More Foreign Organizations Support Chinese Women in Battle Against COVID-19
March 5, 2020Since the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) broke out, the Chinese government and people have made all-out efforts to fight against it. In the past few days, many foreign women's federations and international organizations that have established friendly exchanges with the All-China Women's Federation (ACWF) sent letters to the Chinese people, especially Chinese women, expressing their firm confidence in and sincere wishes for China's victory over the epidemic.
Svetlana Orlova, Russian Chairperson of the Women's Council of the China-Russia Friendship Committee for Peace and Development (CRFCPD), and Auditor of the Accounts Chamber of the Russian Federation, sent a letter to the ACWF, expressing sincere solicitude to the COVID-19 patients and their families.
As her letter says, she was deeply concerned by the news that the disease has caused so many deaths, and she is confident that under the leadership of President Xi Jinping, the Chinese government will be able to defeat it.
Established in April 2003, the Women's Council of the CRFCPD is the main channel for nongovernmental exchanges between Chinese and Russian women.
The ACWF has maintained long-term friendly cooperative relations with the Cuban Women's Federation (CWF), which is under the leadership of the Communist Party of Cuba.
Recently, Amarelle sent a letter to ACWF President Shen Yueyue, expressing support for China's fight against the epidemic and inviting a delegation from the ACWF to visit the country at an appropriate time.
"Faced with the current situation, the Communist Party of China, the Chinese government, the Chinese people and the women sisters are all trying to take measures to curb the outbreak. We highly appreciate it. We also wish to extend our most sincere condolences to the families of those who have died of the disease," the letter reads.
Markus Ferber, President of the Hanns-Seidel-Foundation and member of the European Parliament, wrote a letter to ACWF President Shen Yueyue, to support for China's fight against the COVID-19.
In the letter, he said the foundation is always a reliable partner of the ACWF and the current difficulties will not affect the time-honored friendly relations between the two sides, adding that it will carry out programs that promote the rights and interests of women and children in impoverished areas according to the agreement reached by the two countries.
The Munich-headquartered foundation has worked with more than 60 countries on over 100 projects since it was founded in 1976. It has carried out projects in China for more than 30 years.
